This jacket, for instance, has a tale that's more exciting than most.
The journey began in a vibrant market in Marrakech, where we stumbled upon it already full of character and pre-loved. We brought it back with us to our studio in Mallorca, where it underwent a dramatic transformation. What was once a long caftan emerged as a stylish and unique jacket, ready to embark on a new journey. And now, it's heading on a new adventure all the way to California, cropped and ready to make a statement wherever it goes.
This jacket's evolution is much like our own - ever-changing, growing, and adapting. Its story is a reminder of the beauty of transformation and the endless possibilities for reinvention.
After receiving the order, we began the process by taking note of the customer's desired measurements. To proceed with the alteration, we carefully picked out all the seams located on top of the bottom ribbons, allowing us to shorten the piece. This involved removing the ribbons temporarily, so we could reattach them once the alteration was complete.
Here is the jacket hanging in our studio after we cut it shorter. Notice the piece of fabric beside it? That's what we cut off to achieve its new cropped look. We're passionate about minimizing waste, so we never toss away any excess fabric.
The last step is the most important. With great care, my mother expertly sews the ribbons back onto the jacket.
Fun fact: During the spring and summer months, we love to add a pop of color to our nails. Our absolute favorite combination is the vibrant mix of orange and pink shades. It's a small but simple pleasure that always puts a smile on our faces.
